Baptist Health System provides free language interpretation by phone for all foreign language speaking patients and their families. If someone is needed for interpretation during your stay, please contact your nurse or other patient care giver.
For the Hearing Impaired
A variety of services are available for the hearing impaired. If sign language service is needed please contact your nurse or other patient care giver so arrangements can be made to provide this service for you.
Local newspapers are delivered each day by our Volunteer Services.
Letters and packages for patients are delivered each day by Volunteer Services. Letters and parcels that arrive after you have been discharged are forwarded back to sender.
Wireless internet is available in patient rooms as well as in the cafeteria and the waiting areas throughout the hospital. Patients and visitors are welcomes to bring their laptops with wireless internet access to the hospital for their personal use.
Baptist Health System is a nonsmoking facility. Smoking is not allowed inside the facility. All patients, staff and visitors are strongly encouraged not to smoke. Patients may only go outside to smoke with an order from their physician.
Special Needs at Discharge
There are occasions when patients need additional
treatment or care after they are discharged from the
hospital. To meet the special needs of these patients, Case
Management offers some specific options. Please contact
Case Management or your nurse if you need assistance
with discharge planning.
When you are ready to leave, a member of the hospital
staff will escort you to the front entrance and help you
into the car.
Wheelchairs are available on all nursing units, but getting in and out of them without assistance may be hazardous. Please ask for help from a member of the hospital staff.
