Who Is Your Spotter In Life?
Chaplain Justin Smith

Have you ever worked out so hard and your muscles become fatigued? Have you ever bench pressed a lot of weight and required a spotter? You might be asking yourself what is a spotter? A spotter is someone who assists a person when they are struggling with lifting weights. A person who spots someone prevents injury and can be a source of encouragement while working out. Sometimes in life I think we can use someone to spot us. In the book of Psalms, the writer says, “I lift up my eyes to the mountains where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. He will not let your foot slip he who watches over you will not slumber; indeed, he who watches over Israel, will neither slumber nor sleep.” (121:1-4)
The writer of Psalms understood that his help came from the Lord. If the Lord made heaven and earth, He can also carry anyone’s burdens. Today, I encourage us to give all of our problems to the Lord. Let the Lord be our spotter in life. The writer of this Psalm believed that God would not let his foot slip. Today, the Lord also promises not to let our foot slip as well. We can have confidence that the Lord knows what we are going through and He can be our spotter in life.
Dear Lord, We thank you for this day. We also thank you for your mercy and kindness. Today Lord we are facing many problems in life. Many times those problems will burden us. Lord you invite us to give those problems and worries to you. We ask today Lord to teach us to trust in you. Help us to know that you have us in your arms. Teach us to understand that you care for us and no problem is ever too big for you. Thank you Lord Amen.
