What and Why

If you go to any party and social engagement and have small talk with new people, I guarantee this question will pop in some form: “So WHAT do you do for a living?” Rightfully so, people are defined by what they do. Kids begin to dream of WHAT they want to be when they grow up. Most of know WHAT we do. There are other people who do WHAT you do. Let me ask you another question, “WHY do you do WHAT you do?” The reasons could vary from people with the same WHAT. Our WHY separates us from others that do the same WHAT.
Paul specifically told the Colossians this:
“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters” (Colossians 3:23)
He told the Corinthians:
“So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” (1 Corinthians 10:31)
I encourage you to begin to search for WHY. It will make your WHAT a whole lot happier or it might change your WHAT. Find a WHY that brings glory to God. A WHY that brings glory to God goes far beyond the next pay period or this life. It is eternal!
So WHY do you do your WHAT?
