“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not let them be afraid.” (John 14:27)
I find myself worrying about my family, my job, my health, our world; it goes on and on. Jesus offered us peace after His resurrection. “My peace I give you.” So I asked myself what is peace and how do I open myself to receive. I thought of an airplane stewardess sharing shortly after the airplane takes off about one’s oxygen mask, and her saying before you help even your child to put it on so you won’t pass out and be of no use. I realized that we have a spiritual oxygen mask and it is peace. So I got comfortable and thought of who this Prince of Peace is?
“I AM” TRUSTWORTHY
“I AM” SAVIOR
“I AM” COMFORT
“I AM” WITH YOU
“I AM” ALIVE
“I AM” PREPARING A PLACE FOR YOU
“I AM” CREATOR
“I AM” EVERYWHERE
“I AM” IN EVERY CIRCUMSTANCE
The list can go on and on. As I ponder “I AM” a calming, a peace comes over me. When I connect to the infinite “I AM” and realize “All things work for good for those who believe.” Why? “I AM” is with ME! Peace be with you in all seasons for there is a glorious tomorrow! These kinds of ideas inspired me to write this song it’s entitled “I AM.”
I want to be free from the burdens of life
Free as a bird in the cloudless sky.
I count all as naught just to praise the Lord
True faith is not a bribe for a prize in life.
It believes and cares simply ‘cause God is.
Out of faith we live our lives
To show our love for Christ:
Lord, make me like Your bread, Your body,
And pass me around throughout the land.
Lord, make me like Your wine, Your blood,
And let me flow throughout the land.
Take and bless and break my bread
For “I AM” the staff of life.
Prayer: Gracious Lord, open out hearts to receive all You have to give us. Thank You for Your provision in every need we face. Amen.
