Well a new year is coming. 2016! Yea, that does not even sound right. I remember as a little boy imagining what life would be at this time. I thought I would be married with kids and a robot dog, and a vehicle like George Jetson. Well, things haven’t quite lived up to those expectations. I don’t have robots or George Jetson’s flying vehicle, but I do have a wonderful family. We are blessed in many ways and difficulties come but what has stayed the same from being that little boy dreaming of the future until now is Jesus Christ. Some say that is “antiquated, old fashion, or just simple.” It might be to you but if I had that flying car or that robot I would still seek God’s embrace. Let me give you a verse to ponder:
“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” (Matthew 6:33)
As you begin to make a new year’s resolution and plans, start with seeking the kingdom of God. Seek after God. People search for gold and possessions, but God’s kingdom will never rust or go away. I admit to you it would be great to have a flying car but it is incredible to know whether good or bad, Jesus is an ever present help. Don’t get caught without JESUS. Seek him by reading your bible every day. Seek Him by loving Him. Seek him by fellowship and being part of a church. Seek Him by praying and enjoying GOD. God bless you and Happy New Year.
