Christian Benefit Package

Most companies offer insurance and other amenities called a benefit package when you go and work for them.  In John 15, Jesus gives an outline of the benefit package for the believer.

1. Answered prayers

"If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you." (John 15:7)

Jesus says if we remain or abide in Him, that whatever we ask it will be done. We have all prayed for things that did not happen. We prayed and it doesn’t seem our prayer goes higher than the ceiling or God has a deaf ear. My question is: Are you remaining in Jesus? Is there sin /disobedience that needs to be confessed?

2. God is glorified.

"My Father is glorified by this, that you bear much fruit, and so prove to be My disciples." (John 15:8)

This verse may not seem like a benefit on the surface, however this is the ultimate purpose of man. To bring glory to God, you are able to fulfill the purpose and the reason God created you. Ah, it is an eternal purpose also.

3. Jesus loves you as the Father loves the Son.

"Just as the Father has loved Me, I have also loved you; abide in My love." (John 15:9)

Jesus loves you as one part of the Godhead loves another. It is perfect love. It is holy love. It is an incredible place to be and remain.

4. Joy and Full of Joy.

"These things I have spoken to you so that My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be made full." (John 15:11)

Next time you go out somewhere, just watch and see how sad people look. Christians are some of the most soured, miserable people. These believers are not cashing on this benefit of joy. No matter the circumstance, there is a peace. That is joy.

How do you keep your benefits?

"If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love; just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love." (John 15:10)

Keep His commandments. Be obedient. Insubordination is not an option with any job. Love the Lord by doing what He has commanded you to do.
